Kilted comment at Fresno Hotel
This morning as I was waiting outside the hotel for my airport shuttle (wearing my kilt of course), this HUGE guy (as in easily 6'3" and muscles all over) walks out and goes on past me, then he suddenly stops, turns around and slowly walks towards me, when it is clear that he is walking towards ME, I start to get a bit apprehensive about the whole thing, so I cross my arms and get ready for what it is to come.
So, he gets about 2 feet in front of me and in a low voice asks me 'do you have anything against solid colored kilts?', the question surprised me a bit but since I own the ones I've made myself I told him that no, I don't mind them and I own a few.
Turns out he's from New York, a member of the local St Andrew society and he is one of the organizers for next year's Burns' Supper, some more small chat, we shake hands (his shake was more like a bruising, dude was HUGE) and he starts walking away.
So the other guys that were with me attending the seminar give me a look, you know, like what was all that about?
At one point, Muscle man turns around and yells back that 'had I known how many girls I could get I would have started wearing kilts before getting married!!', at this point I told everyone in my group that 'what did I tell you guys?'
We had dinner a few nights prior and of course at one point the topic was me and kilts in general and one of the things I told them was that, as we all know....women LOVE men in kilts.
hehe, rack another one to the kilted stories!

Great story! Unfortunately for me a few weeks ago, I was at a restaurant in Anastasia FL (just outside St. Augustine) and a huge dude took great exception to my kilt. He never said anything directly to me, but let it be known that men in dresses needed their @sses kicked. I was in a rather large group and he got pretty immediate feedback. He hunched down and sulked over his dinner the rest of his stay. I wondered if he would be waiting outside for me, but he apparently thought better of it.

Reminds me of a sign in many truckstops some years back: " Vhy is dere zo minny mor orzez azzez dan dere be horzez?"
