Seaside Games, Ventura CA Oct 10-12, 2008
OK, I'll start the thread! Who is planning this far in advance? Bob (bigdad1) and I will drive up from San Diego on Friday, attend the festivities Saturday and part of Sunday, leaving in time to drive home Sunday afternoon/evening. After checking prices at the "host hotels" we are booked into La Quinta Inn, Ventura, about 5 miles away and half the price
Kilt night Saturday? Anybody local with suggestions for a gathering place?

Hey! I haven't even planned for Pleasanton yet!
That said, if I'm in California then, I'll go. May have to go to Scotland for a visit, poor me. lol

I'll definitely be there. I'm not sure what the plans are just yet. I think I'll be there both days, competing one and cheering on my brother in law and some friends on the other.

I'm planning on being there, though I will have to cut out pretty early (3:00) on Sunday.

I did a little checking on line for a place to meet and found this spot. Looks like it's close to the location of the games and it appears to be family friendly for those of us with kids and teens.

Hi,
New to the board, but I'm from the Ventura area. I'd be happy to provide local info, or do local research for anyone who requests it.

Will any other XMarkers be at the pre-Games dinner on Friday night? We're the recipients of two tickets courtesy of my sister and her husband, who cannot attend. It is tagged "sold out" at the link below, so if you don't have tickets now seems you are SOL.
Comes complete with "fashion show" . . . we'll see. May make for some interesting photos and do/don't discussions!
