That is SO cool! Thank you for imagining a new twist on an classic idea. The step by step photo guide should help anyone follow suit.
Well Done!

Wolfgore, this is an excellent tutorial. When I buy material for a contemporary kilt, I always buy enough for a sporran so it matches the kilt. I'm going to use your tutorial next time

This one is actually a little small compared to the others I have made.
In part because I am still figuring out how to use the serger, and because of the angle I put on the bottom.
Lost some room doing that.
I am putting cargo pockets on this kilt, so I really only use the sporran for my wallet. (I like having it up front so I can get to it easily, and no one else can.)
Even being small as it is, I can put my wallet, smokes and lighter and my cell phone in it. And I have a Blackjack II phone, so it is pretty big by todays standards for a cell phone.

Oh, and for the record, much as I would like to take credit for a brilliant idea, it isn't mine.
Amerikilts come with a similar sporran, and I believe Ron (Riverkilt) told me Jeff at Pittsburgh kilts used to make them as well.
This is just my version and was showing Mipi how I did it because he had asked me for some directions a while back.

Ding! Ding! Light Bulb!! I can't believe I've never thought of using Ammo pouches as a modern version of the sporran. I know I've got a couple in black laying around somewhere....a web strap to hang it...I think you've just hit on a great casual kilting sporran...

Looks great, an idea though... a second layer on the flap, and using a BDU-type button hole? Anyhow, I plan on making one soon
