    Where can I buy this?

I am looking to buy some tartan pattern poly viscose material to make kilts. Anyone know of a reliable source to buy this material by the yard?

Joann's fabrics now carries Poly-Rayon (PV for you guys over the big pond). Also, Martin Mills and Fraser & Kirkbright has some remnants in Poly-wool.

Since Stillwater does not sell fabric, you might ask Sean at Sport Kilt. He offered to make me one of my tartan if I ever found it in PV, so he might also be willing to sell yardage. Wouldn't hurt to ask, and he has a nice selection. (Just nothing in my tartan).

Ah, thanks for the tip. I'll try Sean.

All I see at Hancock's is tiny tartan, metallic added Christmas fabrics.

Would not make a good kilt.

Now doesn't that depend on the kilt?

If you want true Poly/Viscous and not Acrylic, give me a call. I can order direct from Marton Mills and have it included in my regular shipping.
Just let me know which Tartan you would like.

Visit Marton Mills website to see which Tartans are available.

    http://www.martonmills.com/range/5/list/3

I retail the fabric at $24.00 per yard double width. Or $96.00 for a Kilt's worth.

That's too bad. Maybe you can ask the manager about stocking a bigger variety such as we have here in Texas.
