Far as I know, no branch of the US Military uses kilts as part of their uniform.

Thus the tartans associated with them are either made comercially by vendors or taken from another tartan (such as the 'Air Force' tartan which was made for a group of airmen in a specific base), etc.

I can understand why some folks want to 'exclude' other folks from wearing said tartans, but in the end it doesnt matter as they ar ein the end comercially made.

So long as you do not break any UCMJ rule regarding actual uniforms and insignia...you're good to go wearing so called 'service tartans'.

1st thought, wow so many vets among the rabble, no wonder we have such a great group. Thank you all for your service.

2nd thought, I wear the Leatherneck tartan to celebrate all who serve, in particular a 33 yr Marine Uncle, Navy Brother in Law, Marine nephew, and Army nephew (sorry no soldiers in the family at the moment.

3rd thought, the Leatherneck is truly a beautiful tartan, how could you not want to wear it?
