The Nor Cal Rabble meets Big Mikey!

Big Mikey and his fabulous wife Shelley came down to stay with the us yesterday afternoon. We gathered a few of the Nor Cal Rabble for a bit of a dinner party.

The Kilted Juggernaut became our first international X Marker visitor join the Nor Cal Rabble in food, laughter, and a few refreshing beverages.

Did you know that Big Mikey knits? Apparently James MacMillian has proved a bad influence and gotten him into it. Here he is at work on a clever kilt related project

(When I have a chance to "test drive" the completed pair I will give a review, I traded Mikey these for a "sgian don't" that I'd better start working on)

Mikey and Shelley brought down all sorts of wonderful things for the Nor Cal Rabble (Both are very talented, generous, and creative people). One thing they really wanted to share was some of the unique wines and spirits of their part of Canada. We enjoyed the Silver Sage's "The Flame" (a sweet wine with a hot pepper to make an almost Thai-like mix of sweet and hot and a very sweet Ice Wine.

Walkerk and the Amazing Madalyn joined us

As did the ornery...err...I mean spirited way2fractious!

We enjoyed many tasty edibles (including a delicious coffee flavored creme brulee' that Madalyne made). My favorite part was making the sauce for the grilled steak which requires flambe' mushrooms

Mikey and Shelley brought with them a bottle of the infamous Candian Maple Whisky (The one our own Barb Tewksbury enjoyed so much at Kilt Kamp!

)

The F-H.C.A.G. seemed to like it as well!

Panache realized that he had completely forgotten to use his new quaich and offer a small drink to his guest! Where were his manners? Oh well, better late than never!

Mikey and Shelley thank you so much for coming down so far to break bread with us. Your wonderful gifts were not neccessary but will be much treasured.

We all look forward to seeing you at our upcoming Kilt Night at the DCB Friday and at the Pleasanton Games Saturday!
