The surnames I am most actively researching are:
DANIEL/O'DANIEL, WILLIAMS, BARLOW, JONES, HENDRICKS, CALLAWAY, HODGES, GILMORE, MATHIS, BOYER, HITCHCOCK, LARK, BLAKELY, THOMAS, ROBERTS, GRIGSBY, BUTLER, MASON, WYCHE or WYCKE, LEWIS, HALL, HUNT, BATES, BELL, TUCKER, WYNNE, JEFFERSON (yes, those Jeffersons), BRANCH, BOND, PEARSON, RAIFORD, FAIRCHILD, PORCHER, MILLER, WOOD, BARKER, BRUTON, BREWTON, FONTAINE, JOHNSON, GOULD, ARNOLD, RANDLE, LITTLE, COLSON, FORD, HUGHES, DUGGAN, SMITHWICK, HYMAN, BANKSTON, BRUCE, BENNETT, MONTAGUE, ALLEN, SANDERS, PIERCE, BALDRIDGE, COOKE, LANCELOT, GRAY, MOORMAN, ALLERTON, COPPIN, POYTHRESS, ROBISON, DAVIS, MILLER, WOOD, BARKER, SHAFF/SHOFICH. Almost all Southern US, generally 1600-1700's VA, MD & NC>1700-1800's SC & GA>1800's AL & MS.
I had a great-great-great-great grandmother, Lucretia Bell (1757 or 1749-1822 or 1823) who descends from my earliest known Bell ancestor, Richard Bell, born circa 1642, James City, Virginia. I don't know where his ancestors came from.
