Smile Pleased Canadian Customer - Duty Info

Well my Balmoral kilt arrived via FedEx last night and I am very pleased with the product that Scotweb has produced.

The turn around time from order to my door was a little over a month, which to me is not bad for a custom made garment.

The quality is very good to my eyes, but I am by no means an expert. This met my expectations and that is all that matters.

Kudos to the team at Scotweb!

As I was under a time constraint, I chose the International FedEx shipping method which took only a couple of days in transit to reach my house. However, the duty and brokerage fees from FedEx, which I had hoped would only be around $30-$50, ended up at $133.00 Canadian, so be forewarned! or over 25% of the order value...

This is why I refuse to have anything shipped unless it's done with the postal system. $5 handling charge plus any duty that's levied. If you're in a rush I suppose you have to choose whatever will get it to you faster, but the price can be shockingly horrendous.
On the plus side you got a nice kilt that you're happy with.

Btw...welcome to Xmarks from a fellow Canuck!

Al is right, get it shipped by mail unless you're really time constrained. Both Fedex and UPS charge outrageous fees.

    And from Winnipeg, Manitoba
