A more sensible option
Most here are familiar with my, shall we say, more flamboyant manner of dress.
I do have a sensible side as well.
No, really.
Fine, you don't believe me, but here goes.
The basic shirt dress and "waist sash":
This was inspired by Panache's current obsession with wearing military dress to all of the Scottish Games this year. I wanted to compliment his look, but didn't want to cross dress (unlike our daughter, who is perfectly comfortable with cross dressing). This is just a basic cotton shirt dress, purchased at Target for about $25.00. I replaced the cloth waist tie with a simple sash (this is the MacNichol tartan for those who need to know ).
Here it is in action at the Pleasanton Games last weekend:
It was pleasantly cool (especially with a nice wet neckerchief) and my skin was not in direct contact with the sash, which is a good thing for those of us with a sensitivity to wool (I do love the ball gown with sash look, but that almost always involves some neck contact with the sash-can we say angry, ugly, red rash? )
Be well,

Isn't that the truth? My lovely wife hasn't worn a skirt or dress in something like fifteen years. But the bright side is that she has told me many times, re. my kilts, that "someone has to wear the skirts in the family".

Very nice look, indeed. I may have to borrow it.

I like the suit. Still meaning to make myself a kilt/skirt type thing sometime. Maybe I'll see what the fabric store has in plaid.

I don't think I would have put the fishnet stockings with the plaid suit. Too many different patterns.
Why do models always look so grumpy?
