Wearing your sporran on your belt?

Due to my shape I wear my sporrans from hangers off my belt. I have made one with a longer single belt loop to wear with my great kilt when I attend a ren fest.

Due to my shape I wear my sporrans from hangers off my belt. I have made one with a longer single belt loop to wear with my great kilt when I attend a ren fest.

I am with Donnie on this one. Due to disproportionate girth causing a normal sporran chain to ride down under the gut, thereby bunching up my kilt apron, I too wear my sporran on hangers dropped from my belt. With the right ones it is I think a bit cleaner and dressier look too.

But I also have a couple "belt pouches" any one of which I may add to the side of my belt to carry other essentials in addition to the sporran itself. My sporrans are a bit stiff and difficult to find things in normally (kind of like a lady's purse sometimes---can't wait til I get the flak about that comment), plus I have to carry some extra stuff like medications and contact lens drops and sunglasses for medical purposes there, so the smaller belt pouch normally carries my immediate and frequently used essentials like cash and change purse and car keys, and maybe a credit card or two. You can see the small black one on my side in the following pics.







I have a couple others slightly larger and in mixed color schemes for highland games and ren fairs, etc., that are a bit more casual and celtic in appearence.
