By far, the hardest thing I've ever done

.......was to give my kilt to the the man at the dry cleaner. I know he is the owner, he has run the place as long as I can remember. I have taken a lot of clothing to him to be cleaned. I took my tux to him. I asked him if he has ever done a kilt before and he said yes. That was reassuring. but only when he asked if it was an east asian import is when I heaved a sigh of relief. He then asked if it was a "real one". I said of course. It was a USA Kilt made by the one and only Rocky. A 13 oz wool, custom measured and hand sewn just for me. He then said, It would be ready on Wednesday. Talk about jonesing.....

You should call in every half hour or so to see if it's o.k.

It'll be OK. Mine have had many trips to the drycleaner. I always took 'em to the same cleaner, but they always came back like a new kilt.

I know exactly what you mean. By the way, One of our kiltmakers has posted a method of cleaning a kilt at home, I've used it and it works great.

Well, he said that he had done several kilts and knew how totake care of them. He also used the term "Real Deal" when he handled the kilt. The Force is strong in this one, thought I. Wednesday will tell. Maybe I should nominate him for an associate membership in X Marks if he does a good job.

I know how you feel. Are they ironing it for you? The only local cleaner that I'd trust charges a dollar-fifty PER PLEAT to iron pleats. *gulp*

I wash mine by hand, now.

Well, I guess I'll have to send mine to you to have cleaned.

BTW, love the byline Semper ubi..., you have sent me back to latin, freshman year highschool! lol! I am tempted to search the real thing, but I can feel laziness coming on.
