Those really aren't my style. If truth be known, the grouse foot rather creeps me out.

But here's a few beautiful kilt pins that other's might like:

This first is a Charles Rennie Mackintosh design in solid sterling.

    A stylized celtic knot

And finally a Saltire draped around a sword.

I agree about the grouse foot! And I love the saltire pin! I really want to make that my next purchase.

    EDIT: It's $200!! Never mind...

Thanks for the wonderful site. I've long chosen to use alternatives for kilt pins. I have all sorts of pins. Just look in any jewelry vendors tent.

I'm a U.S. Army Veteran as well as a Motorcycle Rider. Both Military and Biker venues carry an array of pins which would work upon a Kilt. I actually have a Pewter Armalite Rifle Pin that I'll swap out with a Battle Axe Pin depending upon events. The rifle Pin gets some comments but most people don't seem to pay any mind.

Those are nice pins, especially the contemprary ones. I myself have been searching for one that is resembles a katana, since that would tie in with my martial arts- and I often go to our celebratory functions kilted, but no luck yet- though I have found a jeweler willing to make one, I just have to save my pennies for awhile.

Some nice pins (and not so nice.) I don't wear one. Mainly because I just haven't found one I like.

I bought the Zoomorphic Kilt pin from http://www.centaurdesign.co.uk/products/kiltpins as I really liked it.

So many kilt pins, so little time/money*
