    Peebles Highland Games


    Let me show you round the Peebles Highland Games which took place earlier today, Sunday 14th September 2008.

    An overview of the arenas.

    Milling around

    8-yard kilts for £55, but at that price they will be acrylic or polycotton.
    More to follow shortly.

    The Highland Dance contest was held in the Burgh Hall.

    Newtongrange Pipe Band.
    Tartan:- Black Stewart

    Heavies - Shot Putt

    The lassies who come to admire the kilted hunks taking part in the heavy events can also be a delight to the eye.

    So too, a smile from a girl piper or drummer can brighten up the day.

    Who will win the contest for best dressed Drum Major?

    Wow, lots of pipe bands! But a lot more blue jeans than I would've thought in the crowd.
