Though for the Holmes look you would need a "ear-flapped travelling cap" and a clay pipe! (ask Jamie about my Holmsian sticklership!)

So Sara
What did you think of Jeremy Brett's portrayal of Holmes? The Granada Series on DVD is one of those collections I'd absolutely love to have.

Is there another portrayal of Holmes?

I have the first series, and it's just as good now as then!

I am showing my age a wee tad, but Basil Rathbone played the best Holmes. I can't remember who played Watson, was it Cecil Hardwicke?

Jock it was Nigel Bruce, as Dr. Watson I have a set of Basil Rathbone as Holmes on DVD.
I am surprised nobody has said anything about the Robert Burns print in the background.

Did anyone catch the version by Matt Frewer? I thought he did a good job. I do remember the Granada version from when I was a kid, I used to enjoy watching that.

well, the pieces look great and all that, but, and I'm just voicing my opinion trying NOT to offend anyone, dashing/dapper/sharp/smart and all the other epithets that usually fly here at XMTS, there is a point where dressing up slowly becomes costuming up.
again, the cape, the hat, the pipe, the kilt, the sporran, etc. everything looks great, it is just the combination of all of those items gives me a not so fuzzy.
and yes, very holmes like.
