Uniform Help?

So I have this pic of my Great Grandfather Stewart in uniform from some point in time after he moved to Canada, trouble is my Grandfather (his son) isnt very talkative about the past and the picture was once black and white but my Great Grandmother painted it in. Im not sure if the colours of the uniform are correct ( I'm inclined to believe they are) i was hoping someone with great knowledge of this sort of thing could give me at least a little info on the uniform or regiment or something close to that

It's the 48th Highlanders of Canada, the tartan is Davidson and, from 1900 thru (at least) the end of the Great War, they were known as the "48th Regiment (Highlanders)". You should be able to get a copy of your great grandfather's service records from Ottawa.

UNIFORM DETAILS: Feather bonnet with white hackle. Balmoral, blue, with diced border. Scarlet doublet. Facings, blue. Tartan, Davidson. Sporran, black, with two white tails. Hose, red and black. Pipers wear Fingask tartan. White shell jackets are worn.
