Question for Kilties in Scotland

I was listening to the radio this morning about a study done in Greeley Colorado where the smoking ban there reduced the incidence of heart attacks by 29%. This was similar to findings after a ban in Pueblo Colorado about 2 years ago. This got me thinking about the recent smoking ban in Scotland.
So, what are your impressions regarding the smoking ban? Are you able to less-frequently wash your kilt?
Does Guinness taste better?
And what does haggis taste like when you are not choking on the smoke of your fellow diners?

And that was supposed to be "kilties" in Scotland.....arghhhh, my kingdom for a better spell check!

Q1 Are you able to less-frequently wash your kilt?
A1 Hasn't made much difference as, before the smoking ban, I tended to avoid going into smoky places anyway.
Q2 Does Guinness taste better?
A2 I don't drink guinness.
Q2 And what does haggis taste like when you are not choking on the smoke of your fellow diners?
A2 Smoking was not usually allowed at Burns Suppers until after the Loyal Toast, by which time everyone had eaten.

The ban on smoking is now in force in England too.

I can now breathe in pubs - I can even sing in pubs at folk festivals.

Before the ban I could walk into pubs, stay for a few minutes and then stagger out wheezing and coughing.

I would question those findings and consider them temporary at best. Unfortunately, a decrease in smoking rates often seems to be connected with an increase in obesity rates. It's really just the exchange of one vice for another. Both of which can cause significant damage to the heart (and other stuff).

There's a ban in Ireland too. Although I smoke the occasional cigarette with my friends, it's nice to go into a pub and be able to play an entire session without having to go outside for air.

Luckily for me, our local Watering Hole hasa pleasant outdoor courtyard, with fire pit in winter. So we can smoke out there; plus there's ample room in the Bar itself for the non-smokers.

never mind the Kilt, I can actually go out with my girlfriend to pubs now.
She has hair so long she can sit on it. Pre-ban whenever we went out she'd have to wash it before bed due to the smell of smoke clinging to her hair. Now she doesn't have to.

Except that obesity doesn't affect the health of others. Smoking in an enclosed space does and makes everybody and everything smell horrible and that's not saying anything about those with asthma or allergies.

The smoking ban is great, I can breath in places I couldn't visit before.

pubs have added ootdoor covered smokin areas... (some have heaters an telly's!)
