Braveheart
First off, a little background info. I work for a local landscape company and we have to wear Pants on the job. No kilts or shorts. Period. Anyway I am able to put on a kilt as soon as I clock out so it's not so bad.
After work today I stopped at the store to pick up a few things. The first thing I heard upon entering was " Mommy look! Braveheart! He's wearing a kilt!" This comment came from a five or six year old girl.
MADE MY DAY.

Out of the mouths of babes! I sometimes get something similar, but never accused of being "Braveheart" (Maybe it is the white beard?)

I've never gotten the Bravehart but I do get little kids "Why is that man wearing a dress?" and most Mothers tell Them it is a kilt. A few have even said that it takes a real man to wear a Kilt.

I too have not recieved a braveheart comment, but whilst wearing my kilt at our town's canada day celebration, i had a few young boys say "mom, look a pirate!" which i thought was kind of weird, only after their mother explained to them that it was a kilt, did they understand.

It was my first Braveheart comment as well. My best guess would be that she'd seen the movie. Therefore man + kilt = Braveheart. It would also explain how she knew what a kilt is.
