Glengarry ???
I just got a new all black Glengarry (EBAY for $9.00 ) I bought it on a "Lark" , But I find I REALLY like it.
My ???? is, besides wearing for formal wear, as a piper, or with a uniform, is this style hat appropriate for other wear ??

With trews. I've seen people wear it dressed up sans kilt.

I wear mine quite often with a tweed jacket or even a polo shirt.
There is something about them though, I can always put on a balmoral but I have to feel dashing to pull off wearing my glengarry.

Not to contradict the most learned Panache, but then again..........................
I feel just the opposite. I'll wear my glengarry to beer night with a rugby shirt or on a waik-about in town with my daughter but the balmoral needs a little something extra. Not a full formal look but a least a button down shirt, shoes with hose up, a nice sporran, you know.

Mikey does the Glengarry well. Panache does the pith helmet well. The nice thing about a glengarry or balmoral is that you can really show off your cap badge.

I see no reason the pith helmet could not sport a cap badge. Front and center of course.

That would look great.

Just wear it... At a jaunty angle, tilted to the right and tipped slightly forward, badge uppermost. It's a great hat and shouldn't be restricted by the "should I-shouldn't I" Police!!

I've got a Pith helmet as well... but it hasn't got a badge on it; Should I? Shouldn't I?
