New Dog Pictures!
As promised, here's pictures of my new dog, Kenzie. Took her back to the shelter vet today regarding her kennel cough, and he said she's already getting over it (although he gave me some antibiotics anyway, just to help her along.) Whoever had her before obviously spent some time with her, since she's VERY well-mannered, has great leash manners and is very well-behaved. She learns very quickly, I taught her to reliably "sit" and "lay down" in just two days (treat-training works great!) She's already proven to be wonderfully house-broken and house trained (I've left her alone for at least seven hours a few times now, with absolutely no accidents or destruction of property of any kind!) She loves her walks and playing, but she's also perfectly happy to sit on the couch with me and watch TV. She still wants to "herd" the cat, but she's learning "Leave It!" pretty quickly and restrains herself (as much as she can, anyway.) All in all, pretty much my definition of the perfect dog!!!
She's part Australian Cattle Dog, but I'm not sure what the other part is. I initially thought it was Aussie Shepherd, but I'm now really thinking she may very well be part Brittany, or even Kooikerhondje (because of the long fur on the back of her legs and ears.) But ultimately, it doesn't matter...she's an awesome dog and I try to take her with me wherever I can. This is the first dog I've owned myself in my adult life (going on thirteen years now), and I wish I would've had them sooner! The last dog I had was probably fifteen years ago, when I was about fourteen or fifteen (family dog. Sweet dog, but dumber than a bag of hammers.) Somehow my former stepfather got the dog. In just one short week, I've remembered how awesome it is to have a canine companion, and I just know that in a month or two, the cat and the dog will be sleeping together peacefully.
Anyway, here's a few pictures. Slainte!

Looking good. I'm sure you'll love her. I've had a dog (or dogs) as long as I can remember. Had three Weimaraners prior to the big, old, lazy English Mastiff we now have. Ya gotta love 'em!!
