It was a great party. My band was scheduled to play but the guitarist called up half an hour before I was going to leave to tell me she had a seriously bad migraine...so bad that she couldn't see.. So, no band. It was a good thing I brought my practice gear!
Anyway, yeah, Colin that's a pretty skinny caber. LOL...Hey, it was the only thing that was "down" that was anything close to 1.) available without trekking REALLY up the hill..2.) straight enough 3.) even vaguely the right size. It was about 16 feet long, but probably only weighed about 40-45 pounds. In other words, a pretty darned long, but reasonably-weighted competition womens caber.
If Robbin (that's Robbins sister in the pic, actually) whacks two feet off of it and cleans off the ashes and smooths off the little end a bit, she'll have a perfectly good practice caber for next season from that stick.
