    Regarding UK v. Tartan it seems more people recognize tartan more readily as a kilt than contemporary kilts.

    Yes, I just wondered. In Germany there is a group of men wearing skirts, rather than kilts. And men in skirts have several times been shown on German television channels.
    A contemporary kilt should come out much better than a skirt, I should think.
