    Economy Kilts Gone from Stillwater

I was just looking around the Stillwater site, and I noticed that the Economy version of their kilts is gone. I wonder why change? I'm assuming they didn't sell enough of them to make it worth it keeping in stock, but I was just curious if anyone else had noticed that or heard anything.

As far as I remember the Economy kilt was basically the Thrifty without the velcro and had buckles/straps, and belt loops, but that was about it. I could be wrong though.

They have one Economy 32' Irish National left, and that's it. And that's in their Closeout items section. (could be a collector's item )

Anyways, I just thought i'd point that out.

    Slainte!

I think SWK had stepped up these past few years. Their HW is pretty much (if not) the Standard and the new Heavyweight is exactly that... heavyweight.

    Yeah, you're right!

Maybe the mills he uses just can't produce at a quantity or price which Jerry considers up to his standards.

I'd like to see more variety in their Heavy Weight wool lineup.

Only 1 tartan doesnt give you much room to choose.

And yes, I think it was announced here months ago that Jerry would stop selling Economy kilts.

I think the "old" Standards...which didn't have sewn-down pleats in the fell, became the "Economy" model when he introduced the "new" Standards, and he probably just sold out his stock until they were gone.

No suprise there. I thought Jerry announced a long time ago that the thrifty was replacing the economy.

    Best regards,

I picked up some standards and econs from SWK. I like them all. The economy kilts are fine in as they are. I can go for more standards eventually. They'll be better than economy style for me in future wear.
Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?
