I'm a Newbie

Hi,

I'm a newbie. I usually do a lot of lurking as I am on too many lists. I ran across this and had to sign up. I only have one kilt - it's a district tartan from Roxbury. I bought it through the Celtic Craft Centre in San Francisco about 9 or 10 years ago at the Caledonian Society Fair in Pleasanton, California. I wear it to a lot of functions and always have jealous admirers.

I was driving along I-80 in PA, stopped my motorhome in a rest area and noticed three guys at a picnic table eating lunch. One was in a black Original Utilikilt and I knew what I must do: greet him in my black Survivor! It yielded a great 20 minute conversation, a business card for XMarkstheScot and now here I am!

I am hooked on non-traditional kilts, wearing my Utilikilts and Amerikilts 3-4 days a week, even shoveling snow in them! Hiking is amazing in a kilt! I now own five and have added ink to my chest and arm as well. Mid-life quest, I guess. Being a part of clan McIntyre, I have thoroughly enjoyed the festivals and the great people I meet there.
