A year in the Fk seven pocket cargo kilt
Well, it has been almost thirteen months since my FK 7 pocket cargo kilt in black poly twill arrived. I also have a UK, 7 SWKs', and four PDKs' (perldog kilts, rolled me own).
The FK gets the most play by far. After seven months of wondering what would knock this kilt out of shape, the ball on the floor storage method was applied. No good, it still kept it's shape. Then I dried it in the dryer with a full load and stuffed it all into a laundry bag for three days. Still wore well.
I have worn this kilt extensively working in a dusty warehouse and gotten tons of concrete dust on it from handing out bags of quikrete. It has been worn for yardwork and chores about the woodlot.
At the range (practicing with arms similar to those carried by the highland regiments), even hunting with my trusty bow, and on all manner of social adventures. This kilt consistently gets me compliments and has never let me down.
Note- when hunting during the early archery season whilst kilted, one may wish to abandon "scent control" and use copious amounts of insect repellent to deter chiggers (midges). That's a mistake I won't be making again any time soon.
This kilted man is a blue collar guy, with blue collar money. The freedom kilt is hands down the best bargain I ever got on a garment. To duplicate the features it would take me a week, and many more attempts before I could come close to the workmanship.
The seams are all expertly done, every detail shows skill and pride. The front slash pockets, while a bit small for big mitts, are handy in the extreme. The kilt has so much storage that I was able to carry water and all my gear bowhunting in my FK.
The under apron pocket is perfect for an ipod or pda. The hip pockets stay out of the way when you sit, and the cargo pockets are perfectly placed and sized.
I cannot give a strong enough endorsement of this product. Steve sells more than kilts. I can make a kilt, and a pretty good one too. Freedom Kilts are functional art that will give years of satisfaction.
