Great pictures. Thank you for sharing.
Your pics made me do a bit of looking around and that is a pretty massive ship.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

Thank you Alex! It is a shame that the 'grand lady' will be retiring.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

There are worse fates for such a fine vessel than to start a new life as a grand hotel. I wonder if her builders knew she would still have life in her 40 years after she left port.
Nice pictures Alex.

Hi Alex that brings back memories. I saw her sail into Southampton water on her first and maiden voyage what a grand sight it was too. She had all the fire tugs around her spraying jets into the air and thousands lined the shores. Makes Me feel so old.
