I remember years ago when I was in the Navy, we passed her out at sea. We were having a steel beach party and the weather was a little off. But since when is that going to stop a bunch of Navy guys from having a party? Anyhow, her deck hands on deck were giving us the oddest looks?

Beautiful ship Alex. It seems like 1967 was just last week. I don't feel old though,...just experienced.

A wonderful ship, I would have liked to have gone to see her off. Thanks for the pictures. I remember seeing the Queen Elizabeth 1 and the Queen Mary, painted dark grey, docking, loaded with GI's..

The ship will become a part of the history. Floating hotel is much better then cutting in pieces.

    Nice photos like allways, Alex.

I agree, the queen mary has now been a hotel longer than she was at sea, lets hope the QE2 has the same long life in retirement, it would be wrong for her to cut up.

Smashin' photos Alex. The one and only time I was on board the restaurant manager came up to me and said "you'll be dining on the Captain's table this evening sir" and I said "What? - pay all this money to eat with the staff. I don't think so" Just kidding.
