you know the very fact that wearing the pleats in front gripes us old farts will make it THE way they will be worn by the youth.
you can show off your buckles and dangle electronic doodads from your otherwise useless third strap.

Thank you, Herr Doktor!
The backwards kilts were visually jarring enough, but a door-knocker-and-chain top, combined with a bumblebee bottom over khaki tights, topped by a pointy helmet ...
Part of me is shaking my head my head in bewilderment, and another part wants to see an actual person made to wear that outfit - preferably one of the window-dressers.

Well, you can't blame the mannequins, they're such dummies anyway.

I think I see the problem: young Wallace has got his head on backwards.

Kelly here again.....
Okay. I talked to the designer there that I did this project with again, and he said......
yes, they knew they were backwards. His boss (some lady from LA) liked them better backwards and said that is just how it was going to stay. Oh, well. I tried.
On the good side,he said that they have been INUNDATED with requests for the kilts, and that people who never really considered them before now want one. So, at least the point got across. I am still very excited. I worked pretty hard on them day and nite for a few days. So it is all ok in the end.
Colin......I actually did think of putting "J-U-I-C-Y" across the rear of one, but I wasn't sure how funny they would think that was!!!!! So, I promised I would let you know about the outcome, and there it is.
Pics of them are supposed to be in next month's VOGUE. Now I can die happy. (my dream was to be a fashion designer, but instead I ended up making kilts. So I got a little taste of my ultimate fantasy.....)
Thanks so much for all of the pics you guys sent. If you have any more, I would really like you to send them to me, as Rock and I can't get to NY anytime soon. I want to print them out for myself so I can remember.....
Cheers,
Kelly Stewart

If the fashion lady in LA says wear kilts backwards... No No, I'd rather jump into the netting of the Golden Gate bridge.

What a pity. I can't imagine them getting away with that with any other designer's output. Nevertheless, a whole new cohort has probably just been exposed to the idea that kilts are cool, and who know where it will go from there.
Congratulations on the exposure.

Rex.

Probably that new cohort wearing their kilts back-to-front.
