Oh my!
So, are there any clan, sorry XMTS badges available yet? I know that there was a quality issue but I know not if anything has come of that.
Apart from that, I'm getting some XMTS tartan, check in just about every day, post when the spirit moves me.
Are there any other requirements for membership of the clan?
Mark
Mark,
As for your first question:
Take a look at this thread from Steve Ashton a.k.a. The Wizard of BC
http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/x...641/index.html
X Marks the Scot.com badges are still available from him as are XMTS embroidered patches. Just send him an email for an invoice and he will take care of you.
As for your second question...
If someone joins the forum, enjoys it, are willing to abide by this community's rules, conducts themselves as a lady or gentleman, and participates in good fellowship with all, then I would declare them a member of "Clan XMTS" in good standing! ![Very Happy](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Just ran across this thread. There is no doubt in my mind that this is a clan.

Finally my ex-professor persona has been awakened. X-Marks is an "Affinity Group" In the sense that we all share a common interest. A Clan also has a common interest too, therefore X-Marks is a Clan. (I'll not try to quote the Latin, I'll just louse it up at this point.)

In other words, if X is a subset of AG, and C is a subset of AG, then X=C?
I think not.

I'm not entirely sure that set theory is applicable in social situations. I think that these probably use something along the lines of "if it walks like a duck..."

The X marks Gathering
So like in the days of old when the clans would gather to eat, drink and show off there physical skill with caber and weights. I look forward to the post that says X Clan highland gathering coming soon. Can you imagine the open field, with a sea of kilts in all tartans, a Blue and White Saltier flying high above the crowd as fellow XMTS member meet for the first time.
me thinks we would need a big venue
