Getting photos will be more difficult than converting the jacket...

If it comes out alright, I will try to get photos to post. Thanks.

I was able to look into the cost or price of having alterations done on jackets and other clothing today while I was out and about picking up my suits from the dry cleaners. It seems standard to be priced per procedure being done rather than per item. By that I mean, for example, X dollars per sleeve to be shortened and the like.

I am going to keep what I found out there in mind when I am doing my own alterations to convert the kilt jackets, as well as, the work that I have done to my wool kilt to improve it. Perhaps not at the rate being charged by the pros, but some value to my work. After all, the money I don't spend on turning these jackets which cost me nothing into kilt jackets and improving my Stillwater kilt can go toward the kilt and jacket I would like to have. I'll get there.

I am still thinking over what I would like and need in the kilt jacket that will go with the traditional kilt when I have them made. It may very well be that that jacket and kilt are a "one shot deal" for me, and they have to be exactly what I want and need.
