    Oh, crikey (warning, rant inside)

    Short Rant

hooo boy. It's happening. We're becoming a BIRN node. Guess who is the BIRN node support guy? This is now 10% of my job.

I'm going down to San Diego to get training on Tuesday afternoon, will be there all day Wednesday and fly back on Wednesday night. Kilt Night at the Sheraton in La Jolla on tuesday night?

Actually, what I'm responsible for is basic maintenance like swapping out hard drives if they cook, making sure the network connection is up, stuff like that. It's not that bad, but I don't need ANOTHER responsibility.

All that "BIRN node" stuff might as well be a foreign language but I understand KILT NIGHT! We are most likely up for it (have been on vacation this week, have to see what returning to work Monday brings. . .) Put it up in Kilt Night forum and see who else comes out of the woodwork!

Sounds like me- if it needs doing, I'm responsible.

The traveling part sounds like a bit of a hassle, but La Jolla doesn't sound all bad. They serve a nice sunset, most days.
