Richmond Highland Games

It was a rainy Saturday for the Richmond Scottish Festival. Opening ceremonies started with the massed bands and parade of clans.

I stopped by the Falconry Exhibition. They are indeed beautiful birds.

I visited my kinsmen at the House of Gordon and Clan Donnachaidh tents. Their were quite a few visitors dropping in on the Gordons to learn about their ancestry. At the Donnachaidh tent three young people dropped by. All had three different surnames and each was a sept of the Clan!

Todd (in the middle) convenes the Gordon Tent. He is a master chef and his wife Lois gives all visitors a warm welcome.

I found fellow, XMarker Jerry well positioned and dry in the entertainment tent. I really like Jerry’s embroidered XMarks Clan Crest badge that his wife, Annette sewn to his balmoral.

We were soon found by the other XMarkers and had a good crowd after all to enjoy 7 Nations.

Seven Nations drew the crowds and didn’t disappoint them.
