Hail from Toronto, Canada
hello there!
as i'm sure i'm not the only one, i've found this site while researching my family tree. on my mother's side is McCallum/Malcolm and i was kinda curious... any kin here?
long story short, trying to find the family tree to trace my roots (in order to know where you're going, you have to know where you've been) and thought it would be great to say hello.
i don't have a kilt, looking into it. i know it's an investment certainly and i want to make the right choices. what better way to show the scottish pride than to wear the garment that's synonymous with Scotland and her children.

Hello and a warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts. Your first kilt might be less dear than you think. Check out the vendors on this page. All have great customer service. Steve Ashton (Freedom Kilts, Victoria, BC) has many kilt options and is a little less hefty on doing the import duty thing.

Welcome from across the Lake in Grand Island, NY.
There are a few Malcoms about, and I'm sure they'll say hello.
As for looking into getting a kilt - we encourage it. We also encourage getting kilts, and there are a lot of helpful threads concerning that here. Take a look around, and if you can't find what you're looking for, ask - someone here will know the answer.
