Kilt pin for the Carolina tartan

When I was on the waiting list for my Carolina Tartan I thought I would need to find the perfect kilt pin for the tartan as it is so unique. I was lucky enough to find a silver gecko pin on ebay from Jewelery Mart it is a wonderful looking pin and picks up almost all the colours of the tartan, here without further ado is a photo

That is a very fun piece Glen! A good match with the tartan.

Hey! I got a family of those living near the outside corner of my shop. Mine are a slightly different colour though.

When I get arround to getting a camo or military tartan kilt the pin will be either my rank insignia or a DON crest/ seal similar to the many who wear the Eagle/ Globe and Anchor with their USMC kilts.

For my Colorado Tartan I am looking for a pin/ broach of the state flower [Columbine] to wear as a kilt pin. Until then I am using a celtic knot thistle pin.

Indigo might be a better fit for the "period" flavor of the tartan, at least for the southern sept of Carolina. That was probably the first big cash crop of the low country.

I'm looking for a Palmetto for my (future) Carolina.

We should make a sticky listing where we can find particular styles of pins. While it's a ways off due to financial constraints, when I am able to afford a Carolina, I definitely want a Palmetto & Gorget pin for it....
