My old man was a Hospital Apprentice in 1937 before he was kicked out for his boozing. An uncle stayed in after War II and made full Commander in Naval Air. A cousin/brother made Annapolis and air base commander in Naval Air. I manged three puny years in NROTC - Marine Option in the 60s before I was kicked out for my boozing....
