A good suggestion, but sometimes forum members don't look, even when the location is there!!! There were several posts from a member in Iceland recently, where it was obvious from the replies that many had not taken the location into account before responding.

That's true! Some people just are not going to read most of those things.

Well... That's a little different than someone asking for a person's location when they do have it displayed. There are some members who would do that.

The one request I would like to make is that both the asker of a question and the answerers identify their locations. That would help me determine how applicable the information might be to my situation.
.
Reminds me of a story my grandpa told me from when he worked on a Golf Course in Santee, SC. It was a cold year, and it started snowing on the course, and all the golfers quickly returned to the clubhouse and got 'rain tickets', but they realized one cart hadn't returned. So he puts on his coat, and heads out on a cart to find the missing cart (and it's people) when he finds them teeing off in the snow. He asks them why they are still playing instead of getting a rain check, and they reply "We came here from Canada to play here, and we are used to playing in the snow" and they finished their round.

I am not keen on adding my location to my profile. I have my own reasons. OTOH, I am in MD as well, but the state is big enough that I couldn't tell if we are local to eachother or not, and it's not one of the bigger states.

And I completely understand that. And if you (or anyone else) didn't even wish to list their state, I think a regional location (e.g. 'Midwest', 'New England', etc) or country (USA, Canada, Scotland, UK, etc) would suffice.
Just my opinion

I understand Glen. Perhaps a 'friendly recommendation' instead?
If members do, they do. If not, then I guess they don't.
