I voted about 8:45. NO line what-so-ever. Walked right in and did my thing. When you vote here (Charlotte, NC), they give you an "I voted" sticker. With that sticker you can get free stuff--free coffee at Starbucks, free donuts at Dunkin Donuts, free ice cream at Ben & Jerrys and free chicken filet sandwich at Chic Filet. Do they do that in other areas?

Most well run bars in this fair city will shoot ya' a free beer when you show your voting receipt. Sort of a time honored tradition going back to the day when Bathouse John Coughlin and Hinky-Dink Kenna used to trade a brewski for a vote...of course NOW WE KNOW THAT"S WRONG and it's purely a gesture rather than a transaction.

Well, there has been some talk about the fact that the deceased or, more politically correctly, the group that precinct captains refer to as "Previously-Living-Americans" have lobbied strenuously to retain their voting rights. Of course the fact that Election Day follows close on the heels of Halloween has done a lot to popularize this notion.
