    Remembrance/ Veterans Day

After attending our local Remembrance day ceremony and watching all the pipe bands I was interested in knowing if any Xmarkers usually attend the ceremonies in their kilts, civilian or military and I would really like to know their feelings on the subject. Thanks guys

although I attended a cermony on sunday and also today I went un kilted.

I like to go remember, and leave, its a time for me when i prefer quiet reflection and sometimes the kilt brings questions that are hard to answer when i am in an emotional state.

I had planned on attending the ceremonies today in my Gordon kilt, but I started feeling ill this morning and ended up staying home.

Kilted all the way, me Grandfather wore kilts during his service. As such A wear mine as much fer me own heritage everyday, as A wore mine today to remember him... the reason A have the pride in me heritage, and freedom to wear Kilts. A do dress up though, make no mistake. He would have me tanned if A showed up in any less.

I did not wear my kilt to our local Remembrance Day ceremony. Though I did see a couple of Glens wear their kilts. It was rather cold and snowy today. I did get a few pictures of our city's pipe band I may post later.
Thanks to all those who served.

To be honest, I haven't been stationed anywhere that does anything special for Veteran's Day. My dad and I call each other (He's a Vietnam vet, and I'm an Iraq vet). This year I did celebrate sort of. I had yesterday and today off, but my kids still had school. So I joined them for lunch (in uniform of course) at their respective schools. After the years away, it's nice to do something special like that. We all had fun.

Kilted to my little town's Veteran's Day parade. Wore U.S. Army tartan USA Kilts semi-trad with What Price Glory War 2 replica Ike jacket in honor of my late father's service.

Was asked to join the color guard and carry the POW-MIA flag. Did that today. Was emotional to carry that flag. Lots of "Thank yous" from the curbside too.

Pic down on the Celebration Zone on one of the Veteran's Day threads.

The town we live outside of doesn't do anything for Veterans Day. I'm not sure I would at a formal ceremony for some of the same reasons as kiltedmapleleaf stated above. I prefer to reflect quietly on the service of those who went before me and those who came after me, and more importantly to me,...those who fell beside me...
