Final Update on X-Marker Michael Steinrok
I just talked to Nancy...Mike is out of the hospital and staying with Nancy. He was released on Saturday, had surgery last Thursday to replace the large part of his cranium that they'd removed to get at the dural blood clots.
Mike went for a walk with his brother today, and didn't use his cane! His head is symmetrical again! He's had a bit of a lazy eye, as a result of the surgery and that is regaining function. Apparently a day or two ago, Nancy and Mike went into Peets Coffee for their usual morning coffee routine, and Mike got a bit emotional; getting back to "real life" again is a powerful thing. The only thing that's a bit slow is recovering from the spinal laminectomy. Mikes lower back muscle tire quickly, but that's totally normal for lower back surgery.
Upshot is, Mike is amazing the surgeons, who apparently thought he had a fraction of a one-percent chance of coming out of the hospital like this. They're amazed at his progress...he's rehabilitating himself, from the get go.
With luck, the Nor Cal Rabble might see Mike and Nancy for a little while at the next Devils Canyon Beer and Kilts night...and that's a HECK OF A GOOD REASON, Nor Cal Rabble, to get that date on your calendar right now!

What a wonderful community we have here again Alan, thank you so much for the updates. Mike and Family are still in my thoughts, but I have to say it all sounds as good as could possibly be expected.

What a guy! I hope the Nor Cal rabble takes care of him and organizes a kilt night in his honor!
