Sounds like a good day all around. We've had rain for the last several days. Today was clear and tonight we had a fantastic sunset. For me, the bad days just put the good days into perspective.

BTW I was a rock drummer when in school. Sonor double bass with a Rogers Dyna Sonic snare and the usual half dozen Zilgen cymbals. My style was influenced by Ginger Baker and Buddy Rich (yeah,...I know different ends of the spectrum.) While I enjoyed those years, my career calling was down a different path.

My wife and I met my parents and son at Denny's for dinner (at the boy's request.) Mrs Nighthawk and I spent about 20 minutes wondering around Hobby Lobby getting Christmas gift ideas for Mom. We then walked the half mile or so (in 15 degree F weather) to Denny's, where the waitress who greeted us just for the life of her couldn't believe that I wasn't freezing my bits and pieces off. I had the opportunity to show her how the kilt is constructed, and just where all the dead air is, and how it keeps you nice and toasty. I was wearing a SWK heavyweight Nightstalker, grey shirt, grey hose, and my black leather duster. So- I told the waitress, who thought like most Americans that the kilt is nothing more than a skirt for men, to get in her mind what her skirts feel like as far as the fabric goes. I had her feel the material of my kilt. Her eyes went wide with surprise at how thick it was in comparison to her skirts. She then understood, and had to take time to call her boyfriend and send him a picture of me from her cell phone. I heard her saying that he needs to get on of those things... so I gave her Stillwater's website addy.

So- I am not ticked. I had a good day.
Attaboy Night! Spent last night kilted at a church celebration, at one time had my all but one of my spiritual mentors for the last 20 years on the pulpit! This was a "formal" affair but not black tie so I dressed up my SWK Gordon with a waistcoat, white oxford shirt and silk tie (normally I wear bolo's). The minister who married my wife and I, who I haven't seen in over ten years, gave me a great big hug and said "You look Fantastic!" I got lots of comment from the congregation, all very positive.

Later I went to met my wife at her new job, walked in an the only person who seem the least uneasy was her! Her comment was this is "my crazy husband", her boss just said "cool kilt". So, all in all it was a very good day!

Great night! Thanks for sharing that with us. I am convinced now that random strangers are sincerely concerned about the well being of our bits and pieces.

To paraphrase GBS, this kilt thing "has got ahold of me, like a dog wrapped 'round my leg".

Nice! I've been known to quote GBS on more than one occasion, such as "Kiss my Irish..." Yeah, you get the idea. I turn that one up loud and proud at work. Especially as my office mate is Brittish.

I fail to see your point.

Just kidding. Seriously, it's directed at this one particular individual. I'm a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan, and he's a big Michigan Wolverines fan. That's one of the biggest rivalries in college football, so he and I give each other as hard a time as possible. Nothing is off limits. And I mean, nothing! (Oh, and we're both artists by trade- so neither one of us is quite right in the head. It's a wonder we get anything done at all... )

I was thinking of that movie "NETWORK" where Beal states, "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!" You however would yell, with me in your cheering by the way, "I'm Happy as hell and I'm going to take evermore!"

And you, Todd, must surely realize that "realize" is spelled with a z in this country.

Believe it or not, I majored in English. After living as a hermit in the desert for... a decade or so, my spelling and grammer skills have declined a great deal. I do sometimes try to go back and proofread, but often someone quotes me and it's too late.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
