    Kilmartin

    Thanks for the description and pictures. Lochgilphead also figures in my ancestry. The McDonalds married into a Gillies family (twice over) of Kilmartin. There was a large community from Argyll that came to Canada in the early 1800's and settled along the north shore of Lake Erie. The Gillies also married into families of Campbells of the same region.

    I took a grand tour of the UK 3 years ago but would like to return and visit Argyll in more detail.
