I sit like Sharon Stone in Fatal Atraction.
Oh yeah. I went there.

Connery, sit knees together if I have my legs stretched out in front of me with my ankles crossed

Not quite. Camilla is sitting with her legs crossed at the ankles like ladies were once taught to do. While men often sit with their legs splayed wide, I do wish they'd pull them together a bit when sitting in crowded spaces.
I find, though, that modesty is easier when sitting like Connery in a traditional kilt with a sporran.

If i'm sitting at a dining table I sit with knees sorta close but I have my ankles crossed.More comfortable to me,but even then the knees tend to drift apart.
Never as wide as Connery, and for sure not the Sharon Stone, but I have been caught crossing one knee over the other.
I wonder if women ever discuss how each other sit.

if I recall, he had a smirk on his face and there was once a debate here on whether it was intentional or not.

The original, unedited photo was modest. The more widely dispersed version was proven to be altered. And as I recall, that officer's father said something along the lines of "That's the same silly smirk he has in all his photos."
