Help!! Need some skinny on Alexandria Scottish Walk

I have been accepted to vend at the Alexandria Scottish Walk but there are some little catches. Besides the 300 app. fee they want 18% of my total sales. I told that "Holy crap, God only wants 10%" Well, my humor fell on deaf ears don't you know? I don't mark things up very high, and with paying help, rooms travel etc it doesn't look real good.

Can anyone tell me how many people actually go inside and check out the marketplace? If they have 10k I could still do ok, 3k I probably wouldn't break even.

I've always participated in the walk. Afterward, I bolt to catch up to friends for lunch. I can tell you the parade draws a good crowd. But who goes to browse the Marketplace I don't know.

I know that most dealer mark up averages around 30%.
after those guys take 18% of that off the top, you'll have to sell a boatload just to cover the $300 dealer fee

They should be able to tell you what past traffic has been in their market place.

unless you just wanted to use the trip as a way to expand your name and and show off your wares I would bag lt

yeah, I think I'll let this one go for now. Even UK did crap at it (though that was years ago). If I could do it myself I would, but I'll be in Key West that weekend at a pirate festival. The girlfriend just wouldn't understand me leaving her to go to the cold lol.
