New Ferguson Modern from USA Kilts
phoenixville pilgrimage: part two
after getting the shock call from rocky that my ferguson modern was finished, i did the phoenixville shuffle the very next day. it was a real buzz walking into the shop and with little more than a hello, rocky stands there by the pick-up rack and pulls down my ferguson and says "here it is..."
for those not familiar with the shop, at the back is a large dressing room where i tried it on and went back out into the store where rocky made a few adjustments and yanked out the basting stitches. i strolled around the shop on cloud nine in the kilt and picked up a new pair of green hose and a claddagh and harp kilt pin.
another discovery that i made is that rocky and kelly have put out two baskets of rolled up tartan remnants of random yardage for $5 a go. each roll is enough to cover a book or line the inside of a journal, gift wrap a special present or make any number of accessories such as a scarf or kerchief. about three dozen tartans in all, i picked out a blue number to bring home to the missus to incorporate into a future handcraft project. just one of the benefits of being able to hit the shop in person.
here is a picture of mr. rocky roeger presenting me with my ferguson at the back of celtic traditions. apologies for the glare off of those domes; there's more forehead in that shot than a frankenstein family reunion... but dig that rack of finished kilts and jackets on the left... hose and plaids on the right. due to the juicy couture fiasco, i felt a certain obligation to make sure that mannequin in the backround had his kilt on c@ck f@rward. i'm happy to report that everything was in order. NICE ONE, ROCKY!
at the front of the store stands the majestic usa kilts christmas tree. standing at a towering 6'4", the norway spruce was spotted by helicopter and later cut and sailed down the schuylkill river to phoenixville where it now stands its yule tide vigil over celtic traditions. the dudes on the dropkick murphys poster behind the tree are checking out that female mannequin. yeah, she's as hot in person as she is in this photo. another excellent visit to usa kilts. thanks rocky and kelly! photos of the kilt yet to come.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

hang in there, gdub. i happen to be the beneficiary of a common name and tartan which no doubt expedited delivery of the cloth to the shop.

thanks, fergy. it's a beauty. but do you mean to tell me you don't have room in your closet for a ferguson ancient, weathered and a modern? ...erm, no idea why i chose to annoy you with this bouncing blue guy. it just kind of works. i'll post photos, perhaps at the weekend.

Believe me, I've got a spot saved for the weathered...but I'll need to wait on that one.
