Holy crap, man! Your MP3 player and mine are almost identical! I have on mine:

Nighwish (disc 2 of Dark Passion Play is on eof my favorites because it's all instrumental. BUT- their new singer is just incredible! I don't miss Tarja at all- except live when they do Wishmaster. This new lady isn't so great on that one song.)
    I also have Within Temptation
    Lacuna Coil
the new Matallica (I was surprised- it actually had some testicular fortitude for a change!)
    Sonata Arctica
    Savatage
    a ton of Iron Maiden
    Albannach
    Seven Nations
    Brother
    Runrig
    Great Big Sea
Savatage/Trans Syberian Orchestra (same band, different name!)
    Adrian Smith
Ben Holmes (a local bagpiper- the guy's a monster!)
Ceolbeg (a band with another monster of a bagpiper!)
and finally... I have Cast In Bronze

So to the original question of what am I listening to? I like to load Iron Maiden, Albannach and Seven Nations into my media player and set it to random. The three of them sound really good together- same general type of melody structures, and Albannach and Iron Maiden have the same kind of furry and agression, while 7N add a touch of refined class to the whole mix.

I'll disagree with on Nightwish's new lead. I don't like her at all. I thought Tarja was waaay awesome. She's recording a new album. I can't wait! I just don't like the new girl. She does not have the vocal range that Tarja clearly has. But that is rather ironic about our mp3 players.. lol..

Just got home from work where I was listening to a Pipe CD that I have made up and then switched to an Oompah CD that I put together for background music at a german dinner. And then.......Brave Combo"s Kick *** Polkas.

Such an odd taste in music.
