From the bens & glens of Vermont . . .
. . comes I, friends & neighbors, your newest newbie.
I'm male, descended from Clan MacIntyre (paternally, in majority) & Clan Scott (maternally, in minority); I am a 7th-generation American, born in the Eisenhower administration, and am a husband, father & grandfather; besides all things archaicly Scottish, I am irreversibly addicted to Alaskan Malamutes, Chevy trucks, the Green Bay Packers, old movies, Appalachian comfort food & Celtic culture in general. I'm also rumored to be on the Arthur Guinness preferred customer list, but you didn't hear me say that.
I've been a proud wearer of handmade, tartan wool daykilts since the summer of '05, and attend, on average, 6 - 8 Highland festivals per year.
And I'm thrilled to be here, and hope I don't screw up too badly before I figure out how to use this site correctly.
I can't wait to meet all of you; thanks for your hospitality!
Cruachan !!

from Arizona. I am curious to know what Appalachian comfort foods. Maybe I need to branch out from cookies, chocolate and peanut butter.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

CRUACHAN!! Hello and welcome to the Rabble! There are a few MacIntyres that come in and out of here, but they're good about not slamming the door. I hang around quite a bit, but never have to sweep out the place. Did you go to the Clan Gathering last July? I was there.
