This way of the world, the carrying of a knife of any sort used to be a non issue and when I used to smoke a pipe, more often than not, I would carry my pipe in my hose top instead, when wearing the kilt.These days carrying a knife is regarded with grave suspicion by the law and rightly so, I am afraid, but I have never heard that common sense has not been applied by the police when it comes to carrying any sort of sensible knife when wearing the kilt.
