    Shoelaces....is it just me?

But for the life of me, no matter how hard I try, I cant get them to stay up! I twist as I am supposed to..bring it around...double knot as tight as I can..but they just fall down to my ankles faster than Paris Hilton's skirt on a Saturday night.

Am I the only one? Any advice would be appreciated.

You may be tying your brogue laces far too high.

I tie mine at ankle level and they remain there until it's time to remove them. It's a natural place for them to be. More comfortable too.

Remember, they ain't Roman sandals that we're wearing.

    Slan,

I take it you are referring to ghillie brogues rather than ordinary shoes and laces.

There is at least one good video somewhere in the archives showing how to tie them and make them stay up.

Houston's of Paisley have a video on their website (http://www.kiltmakers.com/) on page 4 of their video section for example.

Nothing improper about doing it with that method. I find it more comfortable to wear them lower.

I do cringe, however, when I see them wrapped up 'round the legs until and tied just below the hose cuff.

I once received advice that was to hold them up with small baby pins concealed under the knots.

    Thanks all.
