    Bar Visit last Saturday

Last Saturday was the Ohio State and those people up north (michigan) game.
I was invited to a chilli cook off at a nearby bar and was asked to wear a kilt.
I got there and got a lot of stares and then a woman asked me why I wear a kilt and so I tell her that it's
    1. confortable
    2. it's quick to put on.
    3. I like to talk to young women.
Then she asked the question, are you ....Scottish?
I say there is some blood in me but for the most part I just like wearing the kilt.
Half hour later a couple of women comment that I looked good in a kilt and that they were glad I came.
The power of the kilt is awesome and growing stronger over Ohio. Last month I went hiking and camping in the kilt and got a few comments on how nice it looked. I even had a older woman come up to me and told me that her son wore a kilt and that I looked nice.
All this is just awesome that people want to talk to you about the kilt and their family.
I just wanted to tell you all to get out there and wear the kilt of you choice!!

Good post, Jeff! Speaking of which, we need to start thinking about another C.O.K.S. Kilt Night!

Along those lines, this past Sunday (yesterday) my family was invited to try a local Presbyterian Church. It is Liberty Presbyterian, and is held in a reproduction of an Amish barn. Very rustic and really cool inside. Anyway, this was the Scottish Harvest Festival. They have the Capital City Pipers. Several members were wearing their kilts. All in all pretty cool. To introduce myself, I decided to dress up in my Robinson Dress 16 oz. 8 yard knife pleat, made by Kathy Lare. I got it about 6 months ago, and never posted a pic, so here you go...

And, of course, the requisite pleat shot...

Good looking outfit. Almost as good looking as a MacLaine of Lochbuie tartan.
