I wore mine the other day to the Medieval Fair and Irish Fest, and received nothing but compliments.

In fact, when I was approaching the front gate... I was recognized by some of the performers (I used to perform there myself) and 5.... yes... 5 of them decided to lay on the ground right where I'd need to walk by...

I'm slowly working on getting every man that I know to own a kilt. My father-in-law is already on board. I think my dad and best friend may not be far behind.

On the side note of men's "capri" pants, I also wear them proudly. They're just long shorts really, and they certainly have their place in my wardrobe. I would think that, being a forum dedicated to promoting an article of clothing that many (outsiders) consider to be alternative, odd, or even -gasp- feminine, we would be above mocking any article of clothing.

I don't give a Rattus Norvegicus's posterior who wears them...but, like a lot of other things, they don't look good on everybody and I have seen more than my share of people who do not look good in them...they might be saying "...well, I don't care, they're comfortable..." and that's their prerogative. I personally do not care for them and may occasionally make a joke about them but, bottom line, I don't have a personal vendatta against men who wear capri pants.

Going off topic? You bet! But I didn't start it...it was those lilly livered, thin skinned, capri pants wearin' so-and-so's that done it and I can't help it if they get a bug up their capri pants wearin' posteriors and can't take a little ribbing!

I shall now add a bunch of little smilies to the above paragraph so that you all know it was meant as a frellin' JOKE!

I'm sure that the kilt is some kind of "chick magnet"...something must be going on here because this concept seems to get tossed around a whole lot here. Personally, I haven't noticed much difference in that regard since I started wearing the kilt but, as they say on the internet, Your Mileage May Vary.

After I left you on our first meeting at the Duke of Perth last winter, I was surrounded by a bevy of beautiful babes as I went into the Century Mall to pay for my parking. They were on a 'girls' night out' and all insisted on having their picture taken with the 'kilted guy." (I was asked 'the question' several times). Since I'm in my mid-fifties and somewhat rotund, and they were in their twenties, it has to be the power of the kilt!

The main first response I get from the ladies is a look, a smile and then a "hiiii" as I give a smile and walk on by.

The next time they see me they're a little more aggressive. Granted, I've only worn my kilt out 4 times, but the above reaction has happened twice. The other times I didn't see any ladies around as I was at a fraternity meeting.

I agree with reason number 10. Take a look at your wardrobe. If someone is wearing those long "athletic" basketball shorts that are baggy and have the crotch down by the knees then why not wear a kilt? The kilts look better.

I would have a hard time limiting myself to one kilt.

My only problem is that all of the "off the peg" kilts are too short, (I'm 195 cm tall) and my income has taken a nose dive. So I'll be grateful to have one "tank" on hand.
