Not sure I'd wear an outfit like this, but I have to admit I do like the look of it.

I had not seen this tartan before. I think Mr. Theige looks grand in his Confederate Memorial Tartan.
I know I would like to have either a shawl or skirt and shawl of this...even a scarf. My sisters and I have talked of joining the Daughter's of the Confederacy (as we are qualified) but just haven't done it yet. What a wonderful way to honor our Confederate ancestors. It's a lovely tartan.

My wife also is eligible for the Daughters, so had thought of looking into one of each for our son, as to honor both sides. (Each of us had an ancestor at the battle of New Orleans, on opposite sides mind you...)

I'm going to assume this is acrylic as Dalgliesh and Strathmore have exclusive rights to weave Confederate Memorial in wool.

Likewise, a quick perusal of the Frugal Corner's site reveals Bright Skye (a.k.a Isle of Skye, copyrighted and woven exclusively by Lochcarron and Marton Mills), Pride of Scotland (woven exclusively by Lochcarron), and New World Celt (a copyrighted tartan). Things to think about.

I noticed that the sample fabric posted on Frugal Corner's web site appears to differ somewhat from Mr. Theiges official CMT. Specifically, the predominant color of Mr. Thiege's Tartan is clearly gray, whereas the FC sample appears to have a bluish tint.

Additionally, the Frugal Corner's sample appears to lack the light infantry blue horizontal and vertical stripes contained in the Confederate Memorial Tartan. The official CMT has 6 colors-gray as the primary color for the Confederacy, as well as yellow for the Cavalry, red for the artillery, light blue for the infantry and Navy Blue for the Confederate Navy. White is also incorporated with red and blue into a set of overstripes to reflect the Red, white and blue of the Confederate Battle flag.

The New World Celt tartan was designed by the International President's son and given to us to have woven for them. If you are suggesting that we are using the NEW WORLD CELT name/tartan without permission i suggest you contact their international president in Florida and find out the FACTS.
